I’m interested to hear your feedback on friendships. This subject just keeps coming up in conversations with other moms. We have neighbors, acquaintances, family, “friends”, but not many of us have intimate friendships. You know, the kind of friend that can stop by the house at any time of the day unannounced and you don’t freak out because you don’t have a bra on and haven’t brushed your teeth yet. Can you let your guard down around any friend? Can you be real with her? That’s the kind of friend I’m talking about.

I don’t have many close friends. But I can think of 2 people who I could open the front door for (without a bra) at any time. My dad always told me it was the quality, not quantity, of relationships. That’s been even more true as I’ve gotten older, especially as I’ve sought out genuine, lasting friendships.
